Strike! Speculative Tools for Workplace Protest
In preparation for Labor Day, learn about the history of protest tools, from workers throwing shoes into machinery in the early 1900s to sophisticated contemporary technologies. Tech Resident Grayson Earle will discuss common problems in the modern workplace, and how we can generate speculative tools to address these problems.
This event will take place off-site at Governors Island, Nolan Park 8B, which is accessible via ferry from Manhattan and Brooklyn.

Grayson Earle is a new media artist and educator. He has worked as a Visiting Professor at Oberlin College and the New York City College of Technology. He is the creator of Bail Bloc and a member of The Illuminator art collective. Recent displays of his work include Kate Voss Galerie and the Brooklyn Museum. He has presented his work and research at The Whitney Museum of Art, MoMA PS1, Radical Networks, the Magnum Foundation, and Open Engagement.
