Exhibition Installer
Exhibition Installers are responsible for performing general art handling, fabrication, and installation work in support of the exhibition and programming needs of the organization.
This position will report to the Director of Exhibitions & Special Projects and Head of Installations. In addition, this role will occasionally be available to assist the Building and Construction Manager with miscellaneous building repairs and carpentry tasks as needed, based on organization-wide priority. Day-to-day working hours may vary based on installation and event schedules; night and weekend hours are sometimes required.
Responsibilities:
- Work with the Head of Installations in performing carpentry, fabrication and installation work related to exhibitions
- Occasionally work with the Building and Construction Manager in performing general carpentry and electrical work related to repairs and improvement projects throughout the building and garden
- Assist with materials procurement and transportation, as needed
- Support events, programming, and A/V teams in setup and breakdown of both on-site and off-site events, as needed
- Assist Head of Installations and Building and Construction Manager in maintaining a high level of organization in the boneyard, back of house, and other shared areas
Qualifications:
- Experience in construction, installation, and art handling
- Ability to operate scissor lift and forklift
- OSHA certification preferred
Compensation:
Commensurate with experience: $30-$40/hour
