About ediciones projects
zacarĂas gonzález (they/he) is a queer artist with a background as a commercial art director turned chef and sommelier. They founded ediciones projects in 2020, a creative studio focused on collaborative projects that intersect and explore food, wine, hospitality, media, consulting, and design specifically through a queer-centric lens as a Cuban-American. The main impetus of their work is focused on social issues in the queer community and creating ways to foster projects that look at solutions. Their first project, auxilio, is a non-profit collaborative between zacarĂas gonzález, kia damon, raquel makler and mohammed fayaz working to create an intersectional, community-based, food-centered space focused on providing resources, nourishment, and support for queer, Black, trans, and/or Indigenous communities of color in New York City.
ediciones projects is working to building out programming and a space in Brooklyn, New York that will include a Test Kitchen | Cooperative space for community gatherings and educational purposes. This space is also shared between the ediciones office and kia damon’s mutual aid program, Kia Feeds The People Program (KFTPP), which focuses on getting quality produce and pantry items to the Black and QTPOC community. This year, ediciones projects is focused on launching a monthly food distribution program throughout the five boroughs, as well as curating a series of dinner collaborations throughout Brooklyn this summer.
