Red Hook Regatta
Game Jam
Play games made by students. Win prizes.
This year our annual 3D printed boat race, the Red Hook Regatta, has taken on a new shape. In response to stay-at-home orders and an effort to adhere to social distancing guidelines, Pioneer Works has teamed up with the community-based organization, Red Hook Initiative (RHI), to create a virtual edition of this year’s event. Students of RHI’s summer Freedom School program learned to program and design their own games using the Scratch programming environment. To celebrate their hard work, we will be showcasing the games in a public tournament. First, second, and third place winners will receive prizes in the form of gift certificates!
Enrollment for the competition has now closed. To join us a spectator, RSVP here.
