We Are But One: Archival Screenings by Jacqueline Castel
In celebration of BREYER P-ORRIDGE: We Are But One, Pioneer Works presents a series of concerts and related programs that pay tribute to the late artists’ work, featuring the artists’ friends and collaborators, alongside others who were indelibly shaped by BREYER P-ORRIDGE’s seminal practice. The series is organized in partnership with Ryan Martin of Dais Records—an independent label that released numerous records with Genesis Breyer P-Orridge during he/r lifetime.
Join us at Red Hook Labs for a presentation of archival footage selected by Jacqueline Castel, director of the upcoming A Message from the Temple documentary. A Message from the Temple is the first authorized documentary about Thee Temple of Psychick Youth, a loosely organized network of occultists of which Genesis Breyer P-Orridge was a founding member.
Jacqueline Castel is an American-born French and Canadian writer and director based in NYC. Her work has screened at Sundance, SXSW, Rotterdam, Sitges, Fantasia and over fifty additional festivals worldwide. She is currently in production to direct the Canadian-Belgian supernatural drama, MY ANIMAL.
This program series is supported, in part, by public funds from the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs in partnership with the City Council.
