Adeline DeMonseignat
Visual Arts Residency
Adeline DeMonseignat is a London-based artist from Monaco with a Masters of Fine Arts from the City Guilds of London Art School. Her sculpture and installation practice engages with themes of the body, fertility, sexuality, and origin. She uses organic, sensual and fragile materials like fur, coffee, eggshells, and wood, allowing them to do what the body itself does: succumb to the damages of time. With influences such as Meret Oppenheim, Louise Bourgeois, Eva Hesse, and Gabriel Orozco, her work falls into the genre of sculpture known as soft sculpture. At Pioneer Works, she created The Body/ The Éclair II, a sculpture installation about sexual discovery inspired by a school paper the artist wrote at 15.
