Carrie Wang
Technology Residency
Carrie Sijia Wang is a Chinese-born, NYC-based multimedia artist working in performance and interactive installation. She is interested in how systems, rules, and regulations change cultures, beliefs, and rituals, affecting individuals from within. The juxtaposition between the real and the fictional, the rational and the absurd is a recurring theme in her work.
Wang is one of Mozilla’s 2019 Creative Media Awards recipients, and a research fellow at the Interactive Telecommunications Program (ITP) at New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts from 2019-2020. She has shown her work at venues including New York Transit Museum, Ujazdowski Castle Centre for Contemporary Art, Spokane Public Library, and CultureHub.
